Just about every day, I try to do something that I feel is 'productive'. Whether it be working on something in Illustrator (I'm still getting a hang of it) or a website for someone, or even just making sure i get exercise, I like to keep myself occupied. It's a good way to keep me from killing myself out of sheer boredom in the house.
I have a small balcony outside my room, and there's a place where you can garden if you desire. Until now it's just been left as a bare valley, but Jojin decided to buy some dirt and plant some stuff on his balcony, and I decided to do the same.
Today was/is 'Gardening Day'. We had some cow manure that we also bought, and so I decided to mix it in with the soil that had just been put in. I put on my gloves, and began to put some of the manure (they call it cow dung here) into the little garden. ONE BIG PROBLEM: IT'S FRESH. AS IN NOT DRY. ICK.
See, back home, if you buy horse manure, you're talkin about buying dry shit. Here-- well-- I guess it's 'FRESH' here. I almost gagged at the smell of it, but kept working it in. Just touching it made me feel gross, but hey, I guess it's the price you pay to have healthy plants.
Now I'm gonna buy some more real soil, and then get some plants. I don't think I want too many flowers if any, because that'll probably just attract bugs. No thank you. But some greenery there would be good for the soul, I think. Just a little something to make me feel like I did something.
And with that, my cow shit story is complete... for now.... peas.
